Conflict Management Course

Overview

Extensive research done by numerous studies has created a clear connection between interpersonal skills, communication skills, conflict management skills and job performance. Excellent conflict management skills allow for successful job performance and business success. Competence in this course enables one to identify and manage the resolution of personal conflict between persons or parties. The focus will be on the workplace although the same principles can be used elsewhere.

Who is the course for?

This course targets managers in all economic sectors. These managers would typically be first and second level managers such as heads of department, heads of sections, heads of divisions and all managers who have one or more teams reporting to them.

Training Outcomes

At the end of the training course, the delegate demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the principles and concepts of conflict management with respect to life and work relations. 

At the end of the training course, the delegate should be able to explain the attributes of an effective conflict manager. They should be able to explore diversity when dealing with internal colleagues and external customers.

Upon completion of the course, the delegate will be able to create an appropriate action plan and strategies to manage conflict. The methods that the delegates will be able to resolve conflict in terms of the Labour Relations Act.

Upon completion of the course, the delegate will have learned how to complete a skills audit to identify the skills he/she needs to develop to be an effective conflict manager.
